Skin Caviar
requested by Nasrin
Nasrin requested an investigation of La Prairie products. Since "Skin Caviar" is a well known line of the brand I decided to start with them. However the complete ingredient information of La Prairie can't be found by internet search. I sent inquiries to La Prairie headquarter, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus asking about the ingredients and yet to hear back from them.
I feel urged to say, it is the manufacturers’ responsibility to reveal, and the consumers’ right to know what’s in the bottle. Hiding the ingredients is a sign that the company is marketing products based on the brand image alone rather than on proven safe and effective formulas.
Still I did a research on caviar, supposedly the main effecctive ingredient in this product. According to the manufacturers, caviar has a similar chemical composition and structure to skin: up to 70% water, the rest are lipids and glycoproteins, etc. Therefore caviar should supplement and "renew" skin. However there is no other independent studies supporting that claim. The only proven effect of caviar is as a good emollient (moisturizing factor). If so I find the price hard to justify.
Help NvWah investigate La Prairie more if you know the ingredient information.
