There are many good ingredients in this lotion, also quite a few worrying ones.

First about the good ingredients. As the label says, there are AHAs and BHAs. Glycolic acid is alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). AHAs exfoliate the surface skin by breaking up cell-connecting materials. As a result fresh and smoother skin is revealed. AHAs, including glycolic and lactic acid, are widely used to treat aged skin by normalizing thickened skin and increasing skin water content. But the exfoliating properties may also irritate skin. Overdose of AHAs may make users more sensitive to UV radiation. Always wear sunscreen when using AHA products. Another kind of AHA is lactic acid, it could be synthetic or extracted from milk. It exfoliates surface cells by breaking up the connective materials. It may irritate mucous membranes and cause irritation. So the major function of AHA is exfoliate and renew.

Salicylic acid (Beta hydroxy acid, BHA) is a multifunctional acne-fighting ingredient. Salicylic acid is an effective exfoliant and also an anti-irritant. In concentrations of 0.5% to 2%, it gently exfoliates the surface of skin and penetrates into the pore, and thus can exfoliate inside the pore as well as on the surface of the skin, which makes it effective for reducing blemishes, including blackheads and whiteheads. It also treats acnes due to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Salicylic acid can improve skin thickness, barrier functions, and collagen production.

For moisturizing, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is a suspension of microscopic synthetic polymer beads (microspheres) in a vehicle such as bovine collagen, hyaluronic acid or some other colloidal suspending agent. PMMA can be used to improve the skin's contour and reduce depressions in the skin due to scars, injury or lines. They are used to correct facial lines and features that could have been treated with collagen replacement therapy or hyaluronic therapy.

Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) seed oil is rich in protein, zinc and polyunsaturated fatty acids. This is a highly nutritious plant oil that's benefical for the skin without the risks of breakouts. It is used in cosmetics as a conditioning agent and may have wrinkle-correcting properties.

The ingredient zinc gluconate is the combination of zinc with glucose (a sugar). It has antibiotics and anti-inflammatory properties and therefore may be effective against acne.

Now the bad part. Besides water the second abundant ingredient is cyclomethicone. This is silicone that gives skin an instant smooth and pore-minimizing look, but overdoes could cause clogged pores.

One ingredient down, the fourth abundant ingredient is propylene glycol. It is derived from petroleum and used in cosmetics as solvents, surfactants, and wetting agents. It is used to enhance ingredient penetration and as a humidifying agent. It is easily absorbed through skin and is a potent skin irritant. PG could provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentration as low as 2%. In fact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a warning to avoid skin contact to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities.

And there is sodium hydroxide, a inorganic base. Also known as lye, it is a highly alkaline ingredient used in small amounts in cosmetics as pH adjuster. It is also used as a cleansing agent in some cleansers. In higher concentrations it is a significant skin irritant.

Would be even better if it is fragrance free.

The lotion should be effective for acne, but may be provoking for sensitive skin.
