This moisturizer is formulated for dry and aging skin. The moisturizing ingredients are rich and may cause breakouts. Oily skin should avoid this product.
Mineral oil is one of the most effective moisturizing ingredients that rarely causes allergy or clogs pores. Besides there are shea butter, sheep oil, rice and soybean protein, and avocado oil.
To prevent future aging, antioxidants are added. Chamomile extract has moderate antioxidant and potent anti-inflammatory action. There are also vitamin A and E, but they are quite down the ingredient list so their concentration could be miniscule. The last ingredient whey protein is one of the two main proteins in milk, the other one is casein. When eaten whey protein can have significant antioxidant properties. Whether or not these benefits translate into skin benefits is unknown. But it is a good water-binding agent.
The main anti-aging ingredients is dunaliella salina. This is a type of single-celled micro-algae, the only algae that can be found in the Dead Sea able to survive in the salty water. To survive, Dunaliella Salina has high concentrations of beta carotene to protect against the intense light, and high concentrations of glycerol (a moisturizing alcohol) to provide protection against osmotic pressure. These properties help fight skin aging and cancer.
The sea salt is here probably for the purpose of exfoliation by breaking up the connective materials to reveal newer skin.
