What I like about this moisturizer is that it is free of those commonly seen irritants. This product is safe enough for sensitive skin. Even though there are no oil-control ingredients, it is light enough for acne-prone skin use.
The main effect of this moisturizer is likely to be soothing. The ingredient epilobium angustifolium extract is derived from a plant commonly known as fireweed or willow herb. It may have antimicrobial and anti-irritant properties for skin. Another effective ingredient is arctium lappa root extract. It is also known as burdock root extract. It may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
The ingredient phellodendron bark is long known in Chinese herb medicine as Huang-Po. Again it may help reduce skin irritation and inflammation.
Besides there are potent antioxidants such as algae, yeast and sambucus nigra (black elderberry) flower extract that protect skin from free radical damage. It is also nice to have SPF 15, though SPF 30 or up is more complete.
