This is an unusually complicated, high-tech hand cream.
The first several ingredients are UV protectors and silicone. Sun protection is the most effective way of anti-aging. Silicone provides an instant but transient smoothing effect to skin and even minimizes the look of pores. But remember it is only temporary.
There are a number of newly discovered potent skin beneficial ingredients in this cream. The amaranthus caudatus extract has significant anti-inflammatory effects and is used to treat dry, itchy skin as well as eczema and psoriasis. Thus this cream should have excellent calming and soothing effect.
Another example is peucedanum graveolens (Dill) extract. Dill extract stimulates the activity of the enzyme called Lysyl oxidase-like (LOXL), which is the key element in elastin generation and therefore skin elasticity to delay aging. A few ingredients down there is sericin, which is silk protein. Sericin is shown to adhere to keratin of skin and hair readily and forms perceptible homogeneous protective film. Moreover, this protein shows a remarkable skin moisturizing, reduction of transepidermal water loss and antiwrinkle action. Together these ingredients offers siginificant skin-rebuild power.
Pseudoalteromonas ferment extract has excellent spreadibility on skin that prevents moisture loss and protects skin from extreme weather.
There is one thing I don't like about this product, that is propylene glycol. PG is derived from petroleum and used in cosmetics as solvents, surfactants, and wetting agents. It is used to enhance ingredient penetration and as a humidifying agent. It is easily absorbed through skin and is a potent skin irritant. PG could provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentration as low as 2%. In fact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a warning to avoid skin contact to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities. For this I took away half star.
Safety alert: Cautious review based on scientific information of the product ingredients.
