Either the ingredient list is not complete or something other reason, I can’t find the sun protection in this product.

Besides water, the second abundant ingredient is propylene glycol. It is derived from petroleum and used in cosmetics as solvents, surfactants, and wetting agents. It is used to enhance ingredient penetration and as a humidifying agent. It is easily absorbed through skin and is a potent skin irritant. PG could provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentration as low as 2%. In fact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a warning to avoid skin contact to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities.

Like all Cetaphil products, this is a simple formula. Other than glycerin soybean oil is the major moisturizing factor here.

It is advised to use this product as a sunscreen and complement with another moisturizer.

2nd ingredient		propylene glycol is a humectant or humidifying and delivery ingredient used in cosmetics. It’s safe for use in cosmetics with concentration limit. However it has been found to provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentrations as low as 2%.
3rd ingredient		glycerin transports water from the environment and from the lower layers of skin (dermis) to surface skin (epidermis). It softens the skin. Glycerin is a substance naturally present in skin which helps maintain the epidermis and prevent dryness or scaling.
4th ingredient		dimethicone is silicone that imparts velvety and smooth feeling to skin.

Illness		Contains triethanolamine. Used in cosmetics as a pH balancer, it has the potential for creating nitrosamines. Once absorbed through skin, it is a potent carcinogen. Given it is the last ingredient in this product, the concentration may not be high enough to be of concerns.
