The cleansing agents in this cleanser are indeed gentle and non-stripping, suitable for even sensitive skin. There are also aloe and chamomile extract that sooth the skin. For a cleanser it is considerate of Dove to put in vitamins and green tea extracts, both are excellent antioxidants.

What I don't like about this product is they put in more than necessary fragrance. Many fragrance have never been tested in cosmetics. A limited number of independent studies showed that topical use of fragrance could cause photodermatitis and deposit toxins in organs. Sensitive skin should use this product with caution. For this I took away one star.

 oj_line is water.
2nd ingredient
 Glycerin transports water from the environment and from the lower layers of skin (dermis) to surface skin (epidermis). It softens the skin. Glycerin is a substance naturally present in skin which helps maintain the epidermis and prevent dryness or scaling.
3rd ingredient
 Decyl glucoside is a mild non-ionic surfactant used in cosmetic formularies including baby shampoo and in products for individuals with a sensitive skin. Many natural personal care companies use this cleanser because it is plant-derived, biodegradable, and gentle for all hair types.
4th ingredient
 Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is surfactant and foaming agent.
