This is a product that has been gaining a lot of rave reviews, also voted "Best Beauty Buy" by Allure and InStyle. However I find it hard to agree with.

There is not enough anti-aging factor in it as you would expect. One of them may be phospholipid. Phospholipid is the type of lipids composed of glycerol, fatty acids, and phosphate. Phospholipids are natural constituent of cell membranes and maintain the cellular integrity. Therefore by supplementing phospholipid it restores the skin suppleness.

The antioxidant content is somewhat impressive and plays an important role in age prevention. The ingredient hydroxydecyl ubiquinone is an antioxidant that protects cells from environmental damage, improves the appearance of fine lines, reduces dryness, and smooths skin texture. Although it is very similar to CoQ10, it’s more water soluble and has a slightly different anti-oxidant profile.

The product is quite moisturizing. For example hyaluronic acid is a component of skin tissue that is used in skin-care products as a good water-binding agent. Another plant-derived moisturizing factor is trehalose. It is plant sugar that has excellent water-binding properties for skin.

But there are more irritants than I like to see. The most chin-clutching one is propylene glycol (PG). PG is derived from petroleum and used in cosmetics as solvents, surfactants, and wetting agents. It is used to enhance ingredient penetration and as a humidifying agent. It is easily absorbed through skin and is a potent skin irritant. PG could provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentration as low as 2%. In fact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a warning to avoid skin contact to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities. It is the 15th ingredient out of 37 total which means the amount could be high enough to be of concern. In addition, the preservative chlorphenesin is banned in use of cosmetics in Japan.

For a price of $155 I would want so much more. Too bad it didn't deliver.
