The main feature of this cleanser is glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is also known as alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). AHAs exfoliate the surface skin by breaking up cell-connecting materials. As a result fresh and smoother skin is revealed. AHAs, including glycolic and lactic acid, are widely used to treat aged skin by normalizing thickened skin and increasing skin water content. But the exfoliating properties may also irritate skin. Overdose of AHAs may make users more sensitive to UV radiation.
I would recommend to use this cleanser when exfoliation is needed, not on a daily basis. Sensitive skin should be careful using this cleanser. Wear sunscreeen after using this product.
One cleansing agent sodium lauryl sulfate is used primarily in detergent. It could be a highly potent skin irritant and sensitizer depending on the concentration.
