The main concern about this product is that, besides water the second abundant ingredient is propylene glycol (PG). PG is derived from petroleum and used in cosmetics as solvents, surfactants, and wetting agents. It enhances the penetration of other ingredients because it is easily absorbed through skin. However PG is a potent skin irritant. PG could provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentration as low as 2%. Since this is the second abundant ingredient here the concentration may very likely exceed 2%. In fact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a warning to avoid skin contact to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities.
The ingredients kaolin and bentonite are natural clay minerals that are used to control oil secretion of oily skin for its absorbent properties. Other than these there is no anti-acne ingredient in this product.
The product should be soothing given the anti-irritant ingredient allantoin and oatmeal.
The moisturizing factors are ok. But there is sheep oil content which is rich and break-out prone, usually not seen in oil-control products. It is second to the last ingredient, maybe the concentration is miniscule to be of concern.
