I do like this product. There are so many loveable ingredients in it. But I can only give it 3 stars worrying about some serious irritants.
Let's talk about the good first. This moisturizer is definitely for dry skin use. It is richly moisturizing that could cause problem for oily skin. Water-retaining ingredients include squalane (oil derived from shark liver or olives), shea butter, hyaluronic acid (a component of skin tissue that is used in skin-care products as a good water-binding agent), saccharide isomerate (emollient that has good water-binding properties for skin), wheat germ oil, sweet almond oil and soy protein.
It also delivers on its promise of free radical damage repair. With powerful antioxidants like tomato extract, red tea extract and cranberry extract. Vaccinium macrocarpon (Cranberry) fruit extract is rich in vitamin C, iron, and potent antioxidants "proanthocyanidins", to avoid damage to cells, at the same time maintaining the health and vitality of the skin.
Ceramides are major structural constituents of skin barrier and therefore important for skin water-retention. Panthenol phospholipids help to repair skin lipid barrier.
There are caffeine content in this product. Caffeine may have some stimulating properties and reduce puffiness. But the effect is at best questionable.
Now the bad ingredients. This moisturizer contains hydrolyzed wheat gluten. Gluten is commonly used as a thickening agent. Some people may exhibit an intolerance to gluten or have an allergy to gluten. It is prohibited in use in cosmetics in Canada. The current trend is to eliminate the use of gluten in cosmetics completely. In addition, the preservative chlorphenes is restricted in use in cosmetics in Japan.
Oily skin please do not use this moisturizer. Also it would be better if they haven't put colorants in there.
