The product is richly moisturizing but also have a few powdery ingredients (aluminum starch for instance) in it to control excessive oil. The ingredient sodium hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid which is a component of skin tissue that is used in skin-care products as a good water-binding agent.
The two ingredients that may be "sculpting" are elastin and palmitoyl pentapeptide 3. Elastin is the natural and main component of skin supporting matrix. Artificial elastin has been used in cosmetics in the intention to restore skin flexibility but no effect has been validated. However it does have proven excellent water-binding ability. Palmitoyl pentapeptide 3 has trade name Matrixyl, a fatty acid mixed with amino acids. It stimulates collagen, elastin and glucosaminoglycans synthesis. So they should help reduce wrinkles.
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) increase fatty acid contents and prevent skin from dehydration, and improve microcirculation. It may also be a cell-communicating factor. According to Olay’s own research, this ingredient reduces the appearance of wrinkles, skin discolorations, less redness, a reduction in sallowness, and improved elasticity.
Vitamin E helps eliminate free radical damage and prevents aging.
However the fifth ingredient isopropyl isostearate is a skin lubricant. Overdose of this ingredient will cause the thickening and discoloration of the skin. Also it's highly prone to breakouts.
