Niacinamide has been the signature ingredient of Olay. Niacinamide is also called vitamin B3, niacin, and nicotinic acid. Topical use has been shown to increase ceramide and free fatty acid levels in skin, prevent skin from losing water content, and stimulate microcirculation in the dermis. It also helps skin discolorations.
The ingredient salicylic acid is also called beta hydroxy acid, BHA. It is a multifunctional acne-fighting ingredient. Salicylic acid is an effective exfoliant and also an anti-irritant. In concentrations of 0.5% to 2%, it gently exfoliates the surface of skin and penetrates into the pore, and thus can exfoliate inside the pore as well as on the surface of the skin, which makes it effective for reducing blemishes, including blackheads and whiteheads. By exfoliation salicylic acid can also improve skin thickness, barrier functions, and collagen production.
Would be be better without perfume though.
