Besides water, the second abundant ingredient of this product is sodium laureth sulfate. It is a cheap detergent component for its strong cleansing and foaming effect. When applied to skin directly it could be extremely drying and cause skin sentisization. The fact that there is so much of it may be problematic for all skin type.

The ingredient DMAE has only reported to prevent aging based on a small study by Dr.Perricone himself, the manufacturer of the brand. So the claims are not solidly supported.

The ingredient thioctic acid (alpha lipoic acid) reduces free radical damage and helps delivery of antioxidants. Another good ingredient copper gluconate has been shown to increase superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels in humans which gurad against free radical damage. Copper may also help collagen synthesis and elastin.
