It is a very similar to another cleanser from this brand, “Age Correct - Nutritive Cleanser”, except that this one doesn’t have thioctic acid (alpha lipoic acid), the ingredient that reduces free radical damage and helps delivery of antioxidants.
Besides water, the second abundant ingredient of this product is sodium laureth sulfate. It is a cheap detergent component for its strong cleansing and foaming effect. When applied to skin directly it could be extremely drying and cause skin sentisization.
The ingredient DMAE has only reported to prevent aging based on a small study by Dr.Perricone himself, the manufacturer of the brand. So the claims are not solidly supported.
It does have ascorbyl palmitate, vitamin C in its formula which is antioxidant. Another good ingredient copper gluconate has been shown to increase superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels in humans which gurad against free radical damage. Copper may also help collagen synthesis and elastin.
Why do they have to put fragrance in there? Totally unnecessary.
