This product contains 1% of salicylic acid (BHA). it is a multifunctional ingredient that addresses many of the systemic causes of blemishes. BHA is an anti-irritant and an anti-inflammatory and has antimicrobial properties. BHA has the ability to penetrate into the pore and thus not only exfoliates the surface cells but also inside the pore, which makes it effective for reducing blemishes, including blackheads and whiteheads.
To sooth usually irritated and inflamed oily, acne-prone skin, this product takes into consideration and puts in quite a lot anti-irritants.
There is denatured alcohol SD alcohol 40-B in it. But since it’s listed among the last few ingredients, it should not be of big concern.
The glycolic acid content is proven anti-aging ingredient, but it can also make skin sensitive to sunlight and especially UV radiation. So it’s better to just use this product at night or wear sunscreen in daytime.
The ingredient DMAE has only reported to prevent aging based on a small study by Dr.Perricone himself, the manufacturer of the brand. So the claims are not solidly supported.
