It does live to its claim. This eye cream is effective against wrinkles and dark circles. At the same time it is moisturizing and prevents future aging.
The ingredient dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline provides long-lasting firming & moisturizing effects, powerful anti-wrinkle action by stimulating contraction of collagen fibres, inhibition of age promoting elastase enzymes, inhibition of free radicals, maintains integrity of the skin barrier, penetrates deeply into skin. Another ingredient palmitoyl tripeptide-3 is synthetic tripeptide that may stimulate collagen synthesis.
For puffiness and dark circles there is this ingredient glucosyl hesperidin. Glucosyl hesperidin has been scientifically shown to improve circulation when applied to the skin, thus helping to overcome the negative physical effects caused by stress, tiredness and cold. By stimulating surface circulation, glucosyl hesperidin can improve skin tone and colour, helping to combat dark circle, dull complexion, and puffiness.
The moisturizing ingredients include niacinamide, which is also called vitamin B3, niacin, and nicotinic acid. Topical use has been shown to increase ceramide and free fatty acid levels in skin, prevent skin from losing water content, and stimulate microcirculation in the dermis. It also helps skin discolorations. In addition there are shea butter and jojoba oil.
This eye cream also has adequate anti-inflammatory content. Beta-glucan is sugar derived from yeast. It has some antioxidant properties and is a strong anti-inflammatory agent. Phellodendron bark (Huang-Po) has been known since ancient Asia and may help reduce skin irritation and inflammation.
The ingredient sandalwood oil is the closest smell to that of the human hormone smell. Its benefit on skin has not been established. In fact its fragrant component can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions.
Coffee has never been shown to have any real skin benefits.
