This product contains 0.5% of salicylic acid (BHA). it is a multifunctional ingredient that addresses many of the systemic causes of blemishes. BHA is an anti-irritant and an anti-inflammatory and has antimicrobial properties. BHA has the ability to penetrate into the pore and thus not only exfoliates the surface cells but also inside the pore, which makes it effective for reducing blemishes, including blackheads and whiteheads.
But the third abundant ingredient is sodium laureth sulfate. It is a detergent component for its strong cleansing and foaming effect. When applied to skin directly it could be extremely drying and cause skin sentisization.
