Based on the two main ingredients in this eye treatment, cucumber and elastin, one can expect the outcome to be moisturizing, soothing and filling in fine lines.

Cucumber extract has an instant water-replenishing effect and also some anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.

Elastin is the natural and main component of skin supporting matrix. Artificial elastin has been used in cosmetics in the intention to restore skin flexibility but no effect has been validated. But it does have good water-binding ability.

Besides this eye gel contains sunflower oil (vitamin E), black elderberry extract and vitamin C that are all potent antioxidants to repair free radical damage and prevent aging.

The matricaria flower extract also has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.

I am not happy with the propylene glycol (PG)...PG is derived from petroleum and used in cosmetics as solvents mostly. It is the fourth abundant ingredient in this product. The problem with PG is that it is easily absorbed through skin and is a potent skin irritant. PG could provoke skin irritation and sensitization at concentration as low as 2%. PG being the fourth abundant ingredient makes me worry about how likely it will cause problem. In fact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a warning to avoid PG skin contact to prevent brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities.

Overall I consider this a good eye cream for the price, if only minus the PG.
