Strivectin has been marketed under the claim "better than Botox". Simply put Botox reduces wrinkles by relaxing muscles. The effect is instant but temporary. While in Strivectin the main ingredient is palmitoyl pentapeptide 3. Also commercially known as Matrixyl, this is a fatty acid mixed with amino acids (protein). There are some studies that demonstrated it stimulates collagen, elastin and glucosaminoglycans synthesis, all of which are the most important proteins that keep the skin suppleness and flexibility. So this product should help reduce wrinkles. But the effect would take longer to see and varies individually. Is it better than Botox? I don't believe so.
It is always easier to prevent wrinkles and stretch marks from appearing by using sun protection and anti-oxidant rich skin care, than trying to correct them when they are already set in.
That said this is a decent moisturizer, a good moisturizer with natural emollient oils indeed.
I don't like products marketing under ambitious and somewhat untrue claims and charging customers a high price to pay for the marketing. For this I took away one star.

Skin irritation |
 |
Contains peppermint oil that has antimicrobial properties. It is a mild surfactant and has cooling effect on the skin. But the fragrant component and astrigent properties can be contricting and irritating to skin. |
Illness |
Contains triethanolamine. Triethanolamine is used in cosmetics as a pH balancer. Like all amines, it has the potential for creating nitrosamines. Nitrosamines are readily absorbed through skin and they have been proved to be strong carcinogen. Whether or not the concentrations used in cosmetics should be of concern is still a matter of debate. |
